The Matrix 20th Anniversary Conversation with Jerry White - Part 1 (English)
Sunday Jun 09, 2019
Sunday Jun 09, 2019
The year was 1999. My high school diploma was almost at hand and, at the time, I had no idea what bullet time was... until I saw The Matrix. Now, 20 years later, I was able to dig through my memory of what it was to live through this moment in film history, with a little help from my friend, filmmaker Jerry White.
In this episode, Jerry tells us about his film festival Vidlings and Tapeheads, now in its third year, as well as his feelings on the Matrix 20 years later. Aside from that, we also talk about Game of Thrones, Cyber Punk, 20 Years of Madness, Mission Impossible 2, Anakin Skywalker, nerding out on LOST, The Hobbit, Bullet time, Drunk Master 2, disappointing endings, Steam Punk, and spontaneously appearing kids.
If you’re in the area of Detroit, Michigan from June 28-29 2019, please drop by The Vidlings and Tapeheads Film Festival. You can learn a little more about it by following them on Twitter @Vidlings and by going to their website www.vidlingsandtapeheads.com .

Jerry White spoke to us for an episode we will be releasing soon, celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Matrix. However, in that discussion, the penultimate episode of the HBO series Game of Thrones came up and we had a 10-minute discussion about it. Warning: there are SPOILERS in this one, so, if you're not caught up with the series, you might want to skip this one.
The entire episode on The Matrix will come out soon, so be on the lookout for that one. 'Til then, enjoy this one!

Oscar season is getting close, and what better way to start the New Year 2019 than with a discussion about a movie that is getting a lot of awards attention. We spoke with filmmaker and photographer, Leonora Anzaldúa, and had a discussion about the Netflix film Roma (2018). We touched upon her past projects, as well as what's in store for her in the future and her Portraits Special which you can learn more about by visiting her website leonoramakespictures.com.

Ralph Breaks the Internet discussion and WIFI Film Festival (English)
Saturday Dec 01, 2018
Saturday Dec 01, 2018
We are back with another movie discussion! This time around we chatted with Professor of Film and Video game design at Washburn University, Matt Nyquist, about Ralph Breaks the Internet, a sequel to the animated film Wreck-it-Ralph. We talked about his latest venture, the WIFI Film Festival and how he has infused the Washburn University in Kansas with his knowledge of film and film culture available only at the most prestigious film schools in the country. We also talked about last week's blizzard, decorations in the attic, Stree Fighter II fireballs, watching people open toys on YouTube, family dynamics in The Haunting of Hill House, and how gross-out cartoons transcend their presumed limitations.
Information on the WIFI Film Festival can be found here:
